Minors

A minor is an academic program that supplements a major. Minors require a minimum of 18 credits and typically no more than 21 credits with at least 6 but ordinarily not more than half of the credits at the 400 level. A minor program may consist of course work in a single area or from several disciplines. In most cases, students do not have to be enrolled in the college that offers a particular minor in order to pursue that minor. More than one minor can be completed if a student is interested in developing an emphasis in additional disciplines. A grade of C or better is required for all courses in a minor. The student's academic progress in meeting retention and graduation requirements in the minor is monitored by the person in charge of the minor. You can find a list of all the minors offered at Penn State at: http://bulletins.psu.edu/bulletins/bluebook/minors.cfm. Minors offered by the College of the Liberal Arts are listed below.
