About Liberal Arts Undergraduate Studies

Sparks Building FrontThe Liberal Arts Undergraduate Studies unit represents and serves all undergraduate students studying in the College of the Liberal Arts.  We work to provide our students with high quality academic programs while cultivating an educational community that engages the core values of the Liberal Arts:  ethical leadership, global perspectives, and critical thinking and communicating.  As we pursue this mission, we work closely with departments, programs, and institutes housed in the College.

Our office plans and executes the Liberal Arts spring graduation ceremony, manages a variety of records relating to undergraduates, and assists with departmental curricular affairs.  We also coordinate internship opportunities, scholarships, and faculty-led study abroad programs for our students, and direct and support the Paterno Fellows Program.

Along with faculty mentors, our team of sixteen professional advisors works with current and prospective students in all Liberal Arts majors, programs and minors on all aspects of academic planning.  In addition to meeting with students in a one-on-one setting, advisors play a major role in university programs such as NSO, Spend a Summer Day, Scholars Day, and Link UP.

While our advisors are geographically dispersed in various College buildings, our main administrative offices are located in 101 and 119 Sparks Building.
