About Liberal Arts Undergraduate Studies
The Liberal Arts Undergraduate Studies unit represents and serves all undergraduate students studying in the College of the Liberal Arts. We work to provide our students with high quality academic programs while cultivating an educational community that engages the core virtues of the Liberal Arts: excellent communication, ethical leadership, global perspectives, and critical thinking. As we pursue this mission, we work closely with departments, programs, and institutes housed in the College.
Our office plans and executes the Liberal Arts spring graduation ceremony, manages a variety of records relating to undergraduates, and assists with departmental curricular affairs. We also coordinate internship opportunities, scholarships, and faculty-led study abroad programs for our students, and direct and support the Paterno Fellows Program.
Along with faculty mentors, our dedicated team of professional advisors works with current and prospective students in all Liberal Arts majors, programs and minors on all aspects of academic planning.
I invite you to visit our Career Enrichment Network, which was created to enable our liberal arts students to successfully navigate the transition from college to a career of meaningful work.
During this time of intense transition when digital forms of communication are changing so much of what we do, we have sought to use digital media technologies to cultivate a community of faculty, students and staff committed to the enduring values of a liberal arts education. We invite you to participate by reading and responding to our Liberal Arts Voices blog and engaging with us on social media.
